BUSA Student Nationals 2006

The 2006 BSTF Student Nationals will be held at Southampton University. The competition will be open to ALL BELT GRADES for sparring, poomse and breaking.

Birmingham University has been successful for three years running, coming 1st overall for two years and gaining a 2nd (a very close 1st position) last year. We encourage all of our club members to participate as it is good to get into a fight situation (it will be in a controlled situation and all competitors will be equipped with standard protection), whilst also having a great experience and a smashing (excuse the pun!) time. The club will be funding the fee for the tournament registration fee.

Last year we came a close to coming first but we were beaten by Newcastle University. You can help support the club in many ways— by competing in the tournament or by coming along and supporting our combatants. The club will organise a coach to take everyone to the competition and back, but the club is considering staying overnight at a hostel or possibly crashing at someone’s house.

The club will be paying for the entrance fee but there will be a small charge for transport costs. Details will follow nearer the time of the tournament.
