Upcoming Club News and Events!

Hi guys,

Firstly apologies if you have already recieved this email, butmy internet is playing up. And if you haven't then it's a good job I sent it again :P

Below is news about everything coming up for the club and things that everyone should take read and take note of. It will only take a couple of minutes to read so I hope you enjoy it :D

Seminar Class - Saturday 31/10/09

This Saturday we have Master Blomeley (the head of Ki-Taekwondo, the organisation we are a part of) coming down to the club to take a special longer training session. This will be all at NO EXTRA COST!

The training will be longer than usual and start an hour later than normal Saturday training. If this means that you can only come for an hour or have to leave earlier than the planned end then it is still definitely worth coming to!
This is a brilliant chance to learn a lot about Taekwondo really quickly and really effectively, and make the most out of Master Blomeley's many years of experience so should absolutely not be missed!

We will also be heading to the Soak afterwards (similar to normal Saturdays) for a late lunch and socialising for the familiar and friendly £1.50 jacket potato spread.

For those that will be collecting/buying doboks then please turn up at half past 11 so that we can sort them all out well in time for the session's start.
For everyone else please turn up 10 minutes before 12 so that we can start the session and not waste any time.

Licences and Fees

By now fees should have been paid. To those that have paid, well done. To those that haven't, it is important to do it now and this can be done at the Munrow Sports Centre on campus just a minutes walk from the Old Gym.

With regards to licences, EVERYBODY that trains at the club needs a BTCB licence, whether you are a beginner or  a black belt. If you have not yet bought one (£17) then you can buy them from the club and this should be done ASAP. Also please can all those with licences already check their licence expiry dates to make sure it isn't out of date.

Cambridge Tournament -Saturday 14/11/09

The first tournament of the year is coming up and we are travelling to Cambridge to compete in the Cambridge University Open Sparring Competition 
It is a brilliant chance to try out WTF competition sparring as a beginner, and it is fair to say that the chance of you loving it is high. It would be really good to see Birmingham winning competitionsall year, and this is the best place to start!

For those who want to compete in this competition the deadline for entry is Sunday 8th November. All you need to provide is your name, weight, and the entrance fee of £14. If people have questions about how it works, whether or not to compete etc. or any other queries then please feel free to ask us about it.

If people could get names to us sooner rather than later then it would be much appreciated so that all the logistics easily sorted out.
Transport is TBC.

Kukri Kit

We are getting Kukri Kit for the club and selling it to all members. If you are interested in buying Kukri Kit (the jacket or trousers) then we will start taking orders for this now and likely the last orders we will take will be around the 8th November as well.
The reason for doing this so soon is so that we can get them in time for the start of Term 2. So something else to think about.

The design will be a sort of amalgamation between the black Ki-Taekwondo jackets (as modelled by Dave, Ruth and Ibby) and the current standard uni Kukri stuff. Again for more details of the design/sizes just ask.

That is only about 2 weeks so don't take too long to decide, but we will remind everyone again for the more forgetful amongst us :P

The whole committee is here to help and make sure everyone gets as much out of the club and this year as possible so please let us know what you think :D

Also it is still not too late for new members to join and try it out, so if you do know people that think it may be too late to start, correct them and bring them along.
