Following a mighty victory in the Birmingham Open, we had no choice but to refuel with alcohol and by all accounts some food as well. Many of our more enthusiastic club members quickly made their way to the Gun Barrels to get a head start on the rest and achieved their goal admirably! An impressive turn out an Rimini’s meant that we easily filled our booking and, unsurprisingly, still had many eager to join in the fun. Fortunately some rapid negotiating from Kate ensured that everyone managed to get seated and savour some of Selly Oak’s finest Italian fare.

After scoffing the best that Rimini had to offer, many intrepid club members found themselves at Fab ‘n Fresh – the Saturday night out at the Guild. Again memories are hazy, but in true Taekwondo fashion we made our mark on the evening with some groovy dance moves. Commendation must go to Ryan ‘Ron’ Fisher for an audacious back flip on the dance floor whilst drunk and drained from the tournament. Unfortunately this did mean that any chance of claiming an injury to get out of clearing up the next day went out of the window!!

It was good to see so many competitors and supporters alike celebrating our first club victory of the season which hopefully sets us up nicely for the up-coming student nationals. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
